A blockboard, also known as a blockboard, is a widely used wood-based product that is used in furniture production.
A blockboard consists of at least two face veneers and a centre layer of glued 7 mm to 30 mm wide solid wood strips. Table tops have a relatively low weight.
The Big Table Studio uses blockboard in particular for the manufacture of tables where the table top needs to be large but still no more than 3 cm thick.
LIGHTNESS, LONGEVITY
SOME FEATURES
WEIGHT
Compared to solid wood, blockboards are generally lighter, which makes them easier to transport and handle.
COST SAVING
Blockboards are often cheaper than solid wood and still offer acceptable durability and strength.
OBERFLÄCHENBEHANDLUNG
They can be easily brushed, sanded and oiled or treated with stain to achieve the desired look.
STABILITÄT
The use of adhesives and the high pressure during the manufacturing process make the blockboards stable and less susceptible to warping or cracking compared to solid wood.
